"Trucking Back With The Ghost Riders"

Der in Großbritannien geborene und jetzt in Dänemark lebende Colin Clark ist ein Muß für alle Freunde traditioneller Countrymusic, insbesondere des „Man In Black“ Johnny Cash. Colin Clark, der seine Karriere 1978 in England begann und 1989 seine erste Single aufnahm, kommt dem Original äußerst nahe. Von der Independent Country Music Association Germany wurde er im Jahre 2000 als Entertainer Of The Year ausgezeichnet.

Seine aktuelle CD “Trucking Back With The Ghost Riders“, veröffentlicht im Jahre 2002, wurde mit seiner dänischen Band The Ghost Riders aufgenommen. Ja, die Songs liegen stimmlich wirklich dicht an Johnny Cash, aber es wirkt nie gequält. Colin Clark klingt halt so, und es ist ein Genuß, ihm und seiner Band zuzuhören. Sowohl Cash-Klassiker wie „Ghost Riders In The Sky“ oder „Big River“, aber auch selbst geschriebene Songs wie „“Black Train“ oder der Christmas-Titel „Santa“ sind ein Ohrgenuß. Auch der Manager von Comstock Records, Frank Fara, hat mit „Four States To Go“ und „Isom Dart“ zwei Songs beigesteuert.

Traditionelle Countryfans werden von diesem Album begeistert sein. Leider kann man auf der Homepage von Colin Clark nicht in seine Lieder hineinhören – aber bestellen kann man das Album und das Geld ist garantiert nicht zum Fenster herausgeworfen!

 Born in Great Britain and now living in Denmark, Colin Clark is a must for every country music fan who loves the traditional way of country sound, even more if he loves the music of the “Man In Black” Johnny Cash. Colin Clark who started his musical career in 1978 in England and recorded his first single in 1989, sounds nearby to the original Cash voice. He was awarded “Entertainer Of The Year” by the Independent Country Music Association Germany in 2000.

His latest cd “Trucking Back With The Ghost Riders“ was recorded in 2002 together with his Danish band The Ghost Riders. Yeah, the voice really sounds like Johnny Cash but you’ll never think Colin forced it to do so. He’s just sounding that way and you’ll have lots of fun while listening to it. It’s marvellous to listen to Cash classics like “Ghost Riders In The Sky” or “Big River”, but also to self-written songs like “Black Train” or the christmas track “Santa”. Even Frank Fara, manager of Comstock Records, wrote two songs on this album, “Four States To Go” and “Isom Dart”.

Traditonal country music fans will love this album. It’s a pity you can’t listen to Colin Clark’s songs on his homepage – but there you have the chance to order this cd and you really wouldn’t be sorry doing so.
