"The Bottom Line"
Die Idee der kanadischen Band Country Generations aus Nova Scotia, eine Mixtur aus traditionellem und modernem Countrysound, beruht auf einer Idee des Gründers Frank Spinney aus dem Jahre 1998. Gemeinsam mit zwei Söhnen, seinem Schwiegersohn und einigen engen Freunden erweckte er dieses Projekt zum Leben, dass auf der Bühne Sänger und Musiker von 21 Jahren bis 54 Jahren umfasst.
Das vorliegende Album „The Bottom Line“ wurde im Jahre 2001 in Nashville produziert. Es stellt wirklich eine Zusammenfassung verschiedenster Stile aus den Generationen der Countrymusic dar. Ruhige Songs wie „The Bottom Line“ oder das Gospel-orientierte „Grampa“, der schöne Twostep „This Is Love“, die Ballade „The Candle“ oder der Walzer „Dream On“ lassen beim Zuhören keine Langeweile aufkommen, vor allem da sechs verschieden Sänger die Leadvocals in den insgesamt 12 Titeln übernehmen. Ein äußerst abwechslungsreiches Album, dass Lust darauf macht, diese interessante Band einmal live zu erleben. Aber Kanada ist soooooooooooooo weit weg....
The Canadian band Country Generations from Nova Scotia was founded by Frank Spinney in 1998. His idea was to establish an ensemble mixing up traditional and modern country music. Together with two of his sons, a brother in law and several close friends he brought this project into live combining singers and musicians on stage between 21 and 54 years old.
The album we present here was recorded in Nashville in 2001. It’s really a mixture of different generations of country music styles. There are slower songs like “The Bottom Line” or the gospel-like “Grampa” on it, but also a nice twostep “This Is Love”, the beautiful ballad “The Candle” or the waltz “Dream On”. Six different leadvocals keeps the entire cd containing twelve songs attractive. You can listen to all named songs visiting the homepage of Country Generations.
An album consisting of various styles which makes you interested to listen to this band live on stage. But Canada is soooooooooooooo far away….
