Ja, dieses Album "Slick Country" von Joe Slick ist New-Country-Music in Reinkultur, und das im positiven Sinne! Der in Washington geborene Joe Slick präsentiert in seinen Songs eine Summe dessen, was Country seit Anfang der 90er Jahre so beliebt gemacht hat - frisch, modern, durchaus auch rockig orientiert, ohne dabei die Wurzeln zu vergessen. Der ehemalige Arm-Wrestler, dessen wohl größter musikalischer Erfolg ein Auftritt im Programm von Billy Gillman und Jimmy Wayne im Gaylord Center in Nashville vor mehr als 17.000 Leuten war, steht - ohne Übertreibung - in der Tradition eines Garth Brooks in seiner Blütezeit. Nun fehlt ihm nur noch ein Bekanntheitsgrad über die Grenzen der USA hinaus - bitte schön, macht den Anfang und hört auf seiner Homepage  in Songs wie z.B. In his songs Washington-born Joe Slick presents a combination of that what made country music so interesting since the early 90's: fresh, modern, with a touch of rock without forgetting its roots. Believe it or not: Joe Slick, a former arm wrestler whose biggest success has been a performance during the program of Billy Gillman amd Jimmy Wayne live at the Gaylord Center uin Nashville to an audience more than 17.000 strong, might be the men to continue the road that Garth Brooks started years ago! Well, what's left? Maybe some more country music fans to know him even outside the USA? If one day an major label agent might find this little musical diamond, we surely could find him back in the Billboard country music charts.
