Ein ganz persönliches Highlight auf der „Country Live 2002“ war sicher der Kontakt mit der Band Nighthawk – eine im westdeutschen und europäischen Raum inzwischen renommierte Truppe, die 2000 mit dem „Newcomer des Jahres“-Award der German American Country Music Federation GACMF ausgezeichnet wurde. Auch ihre 1999 erschienene CD „Nighthawk“ ist in punkto Countrymusic ein echter Leckerbissen. Die Produktion besticht durch eine gute Qualität und die Songauswahl (von rockigem Newcountry-Sound bis zur gefühlvollen Ballade) bedienen sicher nahezu jeden Countrygeschmack.
Gerade die Coverversionen wie „Fishin’ In The Dark“ und „The Dance“ als auch die eigenen Songs wie „Mississippi Waltz“ und „Red Wine And A Good Cigar“ bieten sich für einen ersten Einstieg in die musikalische Welt von Nighthawk an.
Country Special Radio Berlin würde sich freuen, diese Band auch einmal bei einer Veranstaltung östlich der Elbe antreffen zu können.

Our first contact to the German country band Nighthawk on the fair „Country Live 2002“ was a personal highlight for Country Special Radio Berlin. This band is already quite well-known in the western part of Germany and several parts of Europe. In 2000 they received the Award “Newcomer of The Year” by the German American Country Music Federation GACMF. Her cd “Nighthawk”, published in 1999, is a real fine album. This production shows a great quality and nearly every country music fan will find his very special song in this mixture of good-rockin’ newcountry sound and nice ballads.
Especially the cover versions like “Fishin’ In The Dark” and “The Dance” as well as their own songs like “Mississippi Waltz” and „Red Wine And A Good Cigar” will give you a good entrance to the music of Nighthawk.
We’d be pleased to meet this band someday on a country event east of the river Elbe in Germany.
