Mit dem Debutalbum von Tina Parkhurst erreichte uns eine CD, die gerade für Liebhaber traditionell orientierter Countrymusic eine interessante Erfahrung darstellen könnte. Die Sängerin, deren musikalische Wurzeln in ihre Familie (Vater, Mutter, Brüder und Onkel) zurückreichen, weist alles andere als eine durchschnittliche Stimme auf. Vielmehr steht sie in der Tradition der großen Ladies der Countrymusic, wie Tammy Wynette, Lynn Anderson, Patsy Cline u. a.. Mit einer äußerst variabel gestalteten CD, auf der die ruhigen Töne überwiegen, überzeugt sie durch exzellenten Gesang und eine gelungene Songauswahl.

Vielleicht zu Country für viele Radiosender, aber auf jeden Fall ein heißer Tip für Freunde echten und ehrlichen Countrysounds. Als Anspieltips auf ihrer Homepage empfehlen wir das ruhige "I'll light a candle", den Two Step Song "Last Train" sowie das wunderschöne "I don't need Flowers".

We received the debut album of Tina Parkhurst, which should be something special for lovers of traditional country sounds. The singer who's roots go back into her family (father, mother, brothers and uncle) has really no average voice: It's very special and continues the tradtion of the great country music ladies like Tammy Wynette, Lynn Anderson, Patsy Cline and others. The CD shows an excellent combination of different song styles.
