John Landry aus Kanada
John Landry's unmistakable voice combined with his intelligent songwriting abilities creates one memorable hit after another. The connection he has made through his songs has touched people from every walk of life. When asked about his songwriting, Landry states "Live and experience, then write about it". This philosophy joined together with a vibe has made John Landry's music a winner to country music fans and country radio.
Landry's 2000 multi-award winning debut recording "Forever Took Too Long", produced six chart-topping hits including "There You Were", "Bit by Bit", "Long Gone & Forgotten", My Heart Says Yes", "Fantasy Island" and "Same Old Love". The 2002 release of "Bottom of the Ninth" saw the release of five more singles, including the top-20 charting debut "When Will Your Memory Let Me Go" and the CCMA nominated "Everybody Rides". Now with the upcoming July 2005 release of John's third album "Someday", fans and industry alike can look forward to hearing a new collection of hits recorded and produced in Nashville, TN with multi-award winning producer Fred Mollin, who has worked with artists such as Dan Hill, Kris Kristofferson, Colin Raye and Walt Disney. John had the phenomenal experience of working with world-renowned musicians such as Paul Franklin, Eddie Beyers, Paul Liem and John Willis, whose instrumental talents can be savored on the albums of artists such as Sting, Mark Knopfler, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Shania Twain and Barbara Streisand.
A native of Eastern Québec, Landry grew up surrounded by a loving and supportive family. At the tender age of four, Landry made his recording debut singing Charlie Pride's "Snakes Crawl at Night" for his Grandmother. This recording captured Landry's talent for musical expression that would inevitably become his life-long passion.
Landry penned his first songs at 15 and although his educational direction would lead him down the path of Emergency Medical Service, it was evident Landry was drawn toward a destiny that was meant to affect the lives of those he touched. It was during his career as a flight medic that Landry discovered how influential his music could be. "A friend was going through a difficult time and I tried to help her through it the only way I knew how - through music. It affected her in a way that all my skills and training could not, and I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life on this musical path."
Landry's greatest strengths are determination, perseverance and patience. These are two of the most important characteristics to succeed in life - regardless of what career path you follow. Landry sees himself no differently than he sees his fans; they just have different job descriptions. Landry's greatest joy was introducing his new music to the fans across Canada. "No matter what I accomplish in my life, nothing will ever top the feeling of pride I get from the fans." This philosophy enables him to appreciate how lucky he is to pursue his heart's desire - making music and entertaining the fans.
