2005 Toyota Star Maker Finalists

Laut einer Meldung der Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) wurden die Finalisten für die Toyota Star Maker Awards 2005 bekanntgegeben, die im Rahmen des Telstra Country Music Festivals vom 14. – 23. Januar 2005 in Tamworth, Australien verliehen werden. Zu diesem zehntägigen Countyfestival mit mehr als 2.000 Veranstaltungen an über 130 Orten werden mehr als 50.000 Besucher erwartet.

The final competition will be held during the Telstra Country Music Festival (January 14^th – 23^rd, 2005) in Tamworth, Australia with more than 2.000 events at over 130 venues and expected 50.000 visitors during these ten days.

Der Erlös der Auktionen soll dem Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, einem Hilfsfond zur Unterstützung professioneller Rodeoreiter und deren Familen nach schwersten Unfällen, zugute kommen.

Annual Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Induction Concert in Muskogee, Oklahoma absagen mußte. Lupus ist eine Autoimmunkrankheit, die u.a. zum entzündlichen Rheuma führt.

Johnny Cash-Instrumente im Museum

WCHS-TV meldet, daß drei Musikinstrumente aus dem Nachlaß des 2003 verstorbenen Johnny Cash und seiner Frau June Carter  (zwei Gitarren sowie ein Banjo, ein Geschenk von Earl Scruggs an Johnny Cash) vom National Music Museum in South Dakota erwoben wurden und ab Sommer 2005 ausgestellt werden sollen.

The two guitars and a banyo give to to Johnny Cash by Earl Scruggs shall be displayed in a permanent exhibition from summer 2005 on.

Wayne Horsburgh wurde als „Top Male Country Act“ und The Wolverines zum dritten Mal in Folge als „Top Country Group“ ausgezeichnet. This year’s Australian Club Entertainment (ACE) Awards show in Sydney showed Melinda Schneider (photo) winning „Top Female Country Act“ as well as „Performer Of The Year“. Wayne Horsburgh received the „Top Male Country Act“ award and The Wolverines won in the category „Top Country Group“ for the third year in succession. Miles Harris, Michael Burton und Paul McNamara from the Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club having a regular country music event schedule were awarded fro „Technical Support“.
