Ehrlich, Vicky Lee ist mal eine Countrysängerin der ganz besonderen Sorte. Countrymusic gemischt mit etwas Blues, Rhythm’n’Blues, Rock und Gospel. Geboren ist sie im Bundesstaat Maine, wo sie 1992 am Talent Contest America teilnahm und in den Kategorien Most Stage Presence und Best Personality gewann. 1999 gründete sie zusammen mit Stevie Cee (siehe Foto), den einige deutsche Countryfans vielleicht noch von der Veranstaltung „USA Meets Germany“ in Schönow 2003 kennen, das Duo Pop’n’Country, bevor sie 2000 ihr erstes Soloalbum „Touch Of Life“ produzierte. Ihre neuestes Album, „Crossin’ On Over“ kam 2004 auf den Markt.
Die Stimme von Vicki Lee ist sehr variabel: Mal kommt sie sehr sanft daher, so in „Mama Was Always There“ oder in „Angels On Golden Wings“, einem Song in Erinnerung an die Ereignisse des 9. September 2001, für den sie von der DECMA mit „Patriotic Song Of The Year 2002“ und von der NACMAI mit „Patriotic Songwriter Of The Year 2003“ ausgezeichnet wurde. Dann klingt sie wieder recht rockig wie in dem Song „Damien“. Besonders überzeugend ist ihre Stimme bei Gospels: „Prepare Your Soul“ und „Thank You Sweet Jesus“ geben einen guten Eindruck von der Ausstrahlung, die Vicki Lee bei Live-Auftritten verbreiten muß.
